Staff Reporter / Friday, March 25, 2022 / Categories: News Pugwash to Celebrate a Royal Canada Day The theme of this year’s Canada Day celebrations in Pugwash will be ‘Double Platinum’. It connects the Queen's platinum jubilee of 70 years on the throne and the platinum jubilee of the Gathering of the Clans. Funding from Heritage Canada will greatly assist in bringing this iconic celebration back to Pugwash after a long absence—thanks to COVID. The Gathering of the Clans includes sanctioned competitions and events that celebrate Scottish heritage. It has been an integral part of Canada Day celebrations in Pugwash since 1951. The platinum jubilee should have been celebrated last year but sadly, due to public health restrictions, it and all other Canada Day celebrations have been cancelled for the past two years. Dave Gunning, who had been booked for the 2020 event, will headline the entertainment on the stage at Harbourfront Centre in the evening of July 1st. Add your comments below.
