Staff Reporter / Thursday, October 29, 2020 / Categories: News Quit Smoking in the Cold Turkey Challenge The Lung Association of Nova Scotia is offering an incentive for smokers to quit the habit. It’s the sixth annual Quit Cold Turkey Challenge which offers a Christmas turkey for those who can stop smoking for thirty days. The President & CEO of the Lung Association says, “Quitting smoking has never been more important, as we continue to battle a global pandemic which can severely impact the respiratory system.” Robert MacDonald refers to COVID which attacks the lungs in particular. Smokers would be at much greater risk of treating related complications. The thirty day challenge is a great way to start. Research shows that if someone is able to abstain from smoking for 30 days, their chances of quitting for good go up exponentially. Registration for the challenge is open for the first 100 people between now and noon on November 8th. Register at www.ns.lung.ca. Add your comments below.
