Savour the Shore a Huge Hit at the Links
More than 500 people descended on Northumberland Links today to take part in a promotion of North Shore hospitality. They were young and old, golfers and sports fans, and everybody seemed to enjoy the music, the fare, and in particular, the special guests.
The NHL’s superstar, Nathan MacKinnon, was joined by Olympian and world champion paddler, Karen Furneaux as they were surrounded by kids and iPhone cameras.
The two sports stars attracted a lot of attention, but the program of music, food, drink, and a huge silent auction kept people at the promotion for hours.
One of the organizers of the part golf, part North Shore promotion, was delighted with the turn-out. With all the work and preparation that went into the event, the only question Liz Clarke could not answer was, “What do you do next year?”
Anne Murray was there, along with her musical family who entertained on the deck overlooking the course and the rest of the festivities.
A massive silent auction kept a constant flow of people through the Links clubhouse.
Vendors from along the North Shore brought their specialties in food and drink to satisfy appetites and cravings, while surprising visitors with their unique offerings.
By all accounts, Savour the Shore was an unqualified success, worthy of a repeat performance next year.
