Sexual Health Centre Seeks Safer Space Indoors
Weather has caused the Sexual Health Centre for Cumberland County to move its Safer Space program indoors. Originally planned for tonight in Eaton Park in Pugwash, the event will now be held at the Northumberland Curling Club.
Safer Space is a community wide educational program designed to open hearts, minds, and attitudes where all residents feel safe and welcome.
The Sexual Health Centre has identified a number of people who do not feel safe where they live. This feeling exists in most communities, including Pugwash.
The program will present ideas on how a community may deal with issues and concerns that isolate certain individuals and divide the community.
The Sexual Health Centre is under the auspices of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The office has operated, in Amherst, for many years. The mandate is to provide services throughout Cumberland County.
Tonight’s program marks the first offering in Pugwash. Safer Space opens at the Northumberland Curling Club at 6pm. There is no charge and all are welcome.
