Staff Reporter / Monday, January 30, 2023 / Categories: News Shots Fired in Springhill Apartment The RCMP responded to shots fired within a Springhill apartment on Saturday. The 9-1-1 call said neighbours heard a number of gunshots around one o’clock. Police arrived quickly to find a lone man in the apartment, with evidence of bullet holes in the walls. Fifty-four year-old William Kenneth Matthews was arrested at the scene. He was charged with: Possession of a Firearm (two counts); Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (two counts); Unsafe Storage of a Firearm (two counts); Careless Use of a Firearm (three counts); Careless Storage of Ammunition; Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace (two counts); Matthews will appear in Amherst Provincial Court this morning.
