Single Car Crash Leads to Port Howe LifeFlight
First responders were called into service late on Christmas Eve for a single car accident in Port Howe.
Pugwash firefighters were first on the scene, just before midnight, to find a car off the road, on its roof.
The car was travelling toward Pugwash on Highway 6. It passed the Country Store and the turn for Highway 301 when the driver lost control, rolled down a small embankment and came to a stop just short of the River Philip estuary.
A woman was thrown from the car, landing in the ditch, while a male occupant escaped the vehicle.
RCMP and ambulance personnel also responded. The woman was transferred to hospital by helicopter shortly after midnight.
