Six Active COVID Cases and Concern in Truro
Nova Scotia now has six active cases of COVID-19, five in the Northern Health Zone.
The QEII Health Sciences Centre microbiology lab completed 575 tests yesterday, identifying the newest case in the Central Zone.
Meanwhile, Nova Scotia Health warns of potential exposure to COVID-19 at two Truro locations:
- Murphy’s Fish and Chips, 88 Esplanade Street, Truro, on August 9 from 5 to 7 pm.
- 102 (Colchester) Wing Royal Canadian Air Force Association, 22 Cottage Street, Truro, on August 15 from 4 to 6:30 pm.
Anyone exposed to the virus at those locations may develop symptoms up to and including 14 days after. If you were present at these locations on those dates, self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19:
- Fever (chills, sweats, etc.)
- Cough (new or worsening)
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Shortness of breath
- Muscle aches
- Sneezing
- Nasal congestion or runny nose
- Hoarse voice
- Diarrhea
- Unusual fatigue
- Loss of sense of smell or taste
- Red, purple or blueish lesions, on the feet, toes or fingers without clear cause
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, call 811 for assessment and please self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps. Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.
