Lost among all the community activities that were shut down, by the coronavirus pandemic, was the first ever stage play at the Pugwash Harbourfront Centre.

The second edition of One Awesome Night will take place this evening at the Pugwash Farmers Market.

When you go to a movie, the last thing you expect is two dozen kids to appear in the lobby to sing for you. Yet, that is exactly what happened for moviegoers in Moncton who got a sneak preview of a hit song from Lion King the movie.

My congratulations to Cumberland Performing Arts for their performance of The Lion King, Thursday May 2. There are a number of theatre schools around Metro and the province but I have not seen any with the high standards that Cumberland Performing Arts have achieved.

Tonight is opening night for ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ at the old Oxford Theatre. Two separate production companies will stage four performances between today and Saturday.

The Wizard of Oz opens at the Oxford Capitol Theatre tomorrow. The musical production is staged by Cumberland Performing Arts, under the direction of Ruth Collins.
