A drama unfolded Saturday afternoon off the coast of Tidnish when the Tidnish Bridge Fire Department was paged to a water rescue about 2.4 kilometres out from the Tidnish River.

More details have been released about last week’s daring water rescue during heavy winds and waves off Port Howe.

The call came at 7:30 this evening. A surfer was in distress off Port Howe and Pugwash firefighters were summoned for a water rescue.
