This Year’s Top Baby Names in Nova Scotia
Olivia and Jack are the most popular baby names of 2021 in Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia’s Registry of Vital Statistics records all births and releases a “Top Ten” list at the end of each year.
Olivia topped this year’s list, followed by Jack, Noah, Oliver, Owen, Levi, Ava, Henry, Benjamin, and William.
Oliver was the top baby name in 2020.
The most popular names usually remain consistent over the years. There are a few new names gaining popularity such as Aurora, Declan and Bennett, with some old favourites coming back like Liam and Charlotte.
There were 6,946 registered births this year in Nova Scotia as of December 29th.
The Province began formally registering births on August 1, 1864 and the most popular names that year were Mary and John.
