Toonie Draw Expected to Surge
The Toonie Draw in Pugwash will reach new heights this week as tonight’s draw did not produce a winner. Number 798 was drawn, but the holder of that number did not enter a toonie, so the $658 prize was forfeited.
The next jackpot will likely go well over a thousand dollars.
The Pugwash Fire Department has nearly 800 players in the 50/50 fundraiser, and that number is expected to grow as cottage dwellers return to the community for the summer season.
The rising number, combined with the rising jackpot will draw more attention to the program. Number holders will be more likely to ensure their number is backed by a toonie for next Wednesday’s draw.
Number holders may prepay the weekly toonie to ensure their number is eligible for weekly draws. Those who want to enter week-by-week can enter a toonie at any of the supporting community businesses, including:Langille’s Service Centre; Pugwash Home Hardware; O’Brien’s PharmaSave; Pugwash Kwik Way; Sheryl’s Bakery; F & D Esso; and Sunrise Country Market in Port Howe.
