Tory Rushton Homebound with COVID
The MLA for Cumberland South revealed today that he is ill with COVID.
Tory Rushton announced the infection on Morning Talk on the Six Rivers Radio Network.
He is one of two people who tested positive at the end of last week at the Nova Scotia Legislature, leading the Speaker of the House to close the legislature grounds to visitors.
Keith Bain declared the public building to be off limits to spectators, a ruling that prompted both the opposition and the premier to cry foul. Tim Houston opposed the ban saying it created a double standard that he found unacceptable.
Rushton is isolating, with his family, at home. He is still taking part in the legislature sitting, but as he described it, “virtually, from a distance.”
The MLA said his symptoms resembled a mild cold with an irritating cough. He hopes to be back in action soon, once further testing comes back negative.
