True Earth Offers an Alternative to Plastic
A Canadian company is leading the charge to rid the world of unnecessary and harmful consumer plastic.
True Earth Environmental Products of Vancouver is developing products to eliminate plastic containers for laundry detergent, shopping bags, and more.
True Earth has developed an alternative to laundry detergent, their wasteful jugs, and the mess of using the product. Eco-strips look like a small piece of paper and a single strip will wash a load of laundry with ease.
A pack of strips come in a simple paper package, eliminating the usually hefty plastic jugs and their associated slimy residue. In fact, since April 2019, True Earth saved over 2,532,345 plastic jugs from ending up in the landfill.
While reducing consumer use of plastics, True Earth is also cutting the environmental impact of transportation. Shipping millions of pallets of laundry detergent is both costly and adds greatly to the carbon impact on global climate change. Shipping Eco-Strips, in paper packaging, substantially reduces both cost and eco-impact.
True Earth has also developed cotton mesh bags to carry groceries, including unique and reusable produce bags. The cotton mesh bags provide a number of benefits when compared to their one-time-use plastic alternatives. Customers also note that people notice and many want to join the movement away from our throw-away culture.
The company has a growing list of eco-friendly products as the founders continue to look for new ways to help consumers make a difference in our world.
As a three-time participant of the Pugwash Thinkers Conferences on Climate Change, I am reminded that we cannot wait for government or business leaders to make the changes necessary to protect our world. Simple steps taken by ordinary people at the local community level are the most effective and make an immediate difference. That is why I have no hesitation in saying True Earth is “Hope Centre Approved”.
But, in the interest of full disclosure, Six Rivers Hope Centre Ministries does receive a small commission for advertising the company’s products.
