UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of Northern Nova Scotia, including Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass.
Conditions are right for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops.
Environment Canada cautions, "Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!"
Lightning was visible in the Pugwash area about 4:30 pm, but it passed quickly. If you see any evidence of storm conditions within the area of Six Rivers to the Sea, please call or text Six Rivers Radio at 902-414-3000 so we can update our weather warning to the community.
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
