Updated Pugwash Masterplan Ready for Viewing
There were 14 reports presented to the annual meeting of the Pugwash Village Commission tonight. A number of those are part of, or impacted by, the Waterfront Development Master Plan.
Debbie Cameron and Michelle Byers talked about the proposal for a multi purpose centre and the waterfront development. But you can’t talk about those without reference to a new library, a new stage that impacts the Gathering off the Clans and HarbourFest. The Masterplan also touches Communities in Bloom and even the North Cumberland Historical Society which will inherit the library space in the “Old Train Station’.
Much has happened with the Masterplan, including the preparation of design and architectural documents that will make certain projects shovel ready in advance of final funding commitments.
While the new stage for Eaton Park will launch this year, other parts of the development initiative will be staggered over the next few years.
The updated Master Plan will be revealed in a public meeting planned for June 14th at the Peace Hall. Cameron and Byers said there will be a complete visual presentation along with a real effort to answer all questions and address rumours and myths.
