Bill Martin / Wednesday, October 25, 2017 / Categories: News UPDATED: Rookie Wins Pugwash Toonie Draw A first time player has won the Pugwash Fire Department (PFD) Toonie Draw. The number 804 was drawn tonight in the PFD 50/50 fundraiser, just days after a new player selected that as his lucky number. David Moore captured a prize of $342. Pugwash firefighters are delighted with the community response to the fundraising program. The number of players continues to grow, and the weekly jackpot always seems to reach a worthwhile sum, like tonight's $342. When somebody forgets to play his number, the prize is carried over to the next week. The pot has already exceeded a thousand dollars. The Toonie Draw was established one year ago to help raise funds for the volunteer fire department.
